New review of Diana Gabaldon's The Scottish Prisoner

My review of Diana Gabaldon's The Scottish Prisoner ran in yesterday's Globe and Mail.  Here's the link if you'd like to read my take on it.  The book's #1 on their hardcover fiction bestseller list, for the second week in a row.

I hadn't read the Outlander series for years, and not all of the Lord John titles. I'm really liking Lord John! They're only (!) about 500 pages long, and I enjoy the details of 18th century life and politics.

Now I am wondering if Lord John and Count Stephan are friends with benefits . . .

  3. I haven't read all of the Outlander books either, but I like Lord John a lot - especially this one. I have no problem with long books (two on the TBR are closer to 700pp!) and admire any author who can keep a reader's attention over a long page count.

I think you're right about Lord John and Count Stephan :)
